Larry Paul Howes, 77, of Rome, Ohio (formerly of Oklahoma) passed away at home on Monday, August 25, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born December 20, 1947, in Chardon, Ohio to parents, Paul S. and Victoria J. (Melvald) Howes and graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1965. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1967 to 1970 where he received a Purple Heart before his honorable discharge. Larry worked as a tree trimmer and roofer before gaining employment in the oil field in Oklahoma where he worked for over 35 years. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially while playing Uno. He also loved hunting, fishing and kicking back a few beers with friends. He is survived by his significant other, Kathy Cortright; daughters, Shelley A. Bellomo of Champion, Ohio, Victoria J. Howes of Lookeba, Oklahoma and Paula J. Howes of Altus, Oklahoma; grandson, Nicholas J. Bellomo of Champion, Ohio; and his beloved black baby cat, TomTom. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Paul S. and Victoria J. (Melvald) Howes. To honor his wishes, there will be no service at this time.
