Larry Jaquins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brookside Funeral Home and Crematory (Yakima) - Moxee on Apr. 18, 2024.
Larry Allan Jaquins passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 69, in his hometown of Yakima, Washington. He had a long battle with illness for the last two years and was strong and brave until the very end. Larry was born on October 21, 1954, and attended high school at Eisenhower.
He met the love of his life Martha while working with a local wrestling company. They were married on August 19, 1979. The apple of his eye, his son, Larry, was born a month later, and his life was changed forever.
Larry worked for the City of Yakima for over 40 years, as the public works maintenance supervisor.
Larry had many interests, but really enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was a huge believer in Christmas and giving back. He was Santa in the Yakima lighted parade for 13 years and loved to make people happy. He was also a huge supporter of Toys for Tots and would take his son, Larry, to shop for toys every year. He was a huge fan of Disney and was able to travel to many countries, sailing on Disney Cruise Line, of which Alaska, Jamaica and the Panama Canal were his favorites. He enjoyed many vacations to Disneyland, Disneyworld, Hawaii, and Las Vegas.
Larry is survived by his wife of 44 years, Martha Jaquins. He also is survived by his son Larry Jaquins Jr., and daughter-in-law, Amanda Jaquins. He is preceded in death by his father, John Jaquins, and his brother, Joe Jaquins.
A Viewing for Larry will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 9:00am-4:00pm, at Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect, Moxee, WA). A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 9:00am, at Terrace Heights Memorial Park, with a Memorial Service following at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
