LARRY WILBERT KELLING, age 79 of Waldorf died on Monday, December 9, 2024 in Waseca.
Born on November 26, 1945 in Waseca, Minnesota, he was the son of Wilbert and Eva (Gregory) Kelling. Larry graduated from Waldorf-Pemberton High School in 1963 and went on to graduate from Mankato State College in 1968 with degrees in Business Administration and Geography. Larry also served with the US Army Reserves.
Following his schooling, Larry took over his father’s business, Kerr McGee delivering bulk oil products. After selling the business, he continued to work for Cenex for a number years and retired from Itron in Waseca in 2015. Larry married JoAnn Borglum in 1973 and they later divorced. Larry was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church in Waldorf where he served on the finance board. He was also a former member of the Waldorf Fire Department. Larry was especially proud to call Waldorf his life long home. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting nutcrackers, and sports of all kinds. Larry especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is survived by two children, Kristi and her husband Augie Fennert of Waseca; Dawn Kelling and her husband Doug Gerdts of Rochester; three grandchildren, Andrew (Alicia) Morales of Kasson, Kaleb Fennert of Waseca, and Bella Kelling Gerdts of Rochester; and two great grandchildren, Cameron and Eilee Morales. He is also survived by his sister, Yvonne Kelling and honorary sister, Jean Fiskey of Mankato. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until the time of services at the church on Thursday. Burial will follow at First Lutheran Cemetery.
