Larry W. Knopf, age 85 of Lindstrom passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Windy Acres Care Center in Wyoming.
Larry was born on December 30, 1939 in Minneapolis to parents, Roy and Lorraine (Peterson) Knopf. Larry attended Chisago Lakes area schools and graduated in 1958. Larry worked at the grocery store in Chisago City after graduating until 1961 when he entered the military serving with the National Guard from May of 1961 until his discharge in January 1967. Upon his return he worked at the Fairway Grocery Store in Center City. He married Shirley Stream on December 30, 1967 at the United Methodist Church in Lindstrom. Larry attended 916 Vocational School and earned a degree in bookkeeping. In his later years he had his own lawn care and snow removal business he ran until his retirement. Larry loved fishing and especially for Northern Pike and time riding his Harley motorcycle.
Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley; brother, Danny (Patty) Knopf of Sandstone; sisters, Dorothy Peterson of Lindstrom, Linda Strain of Wyoming, Virginia Biedler of St. Croix Falls, WI and Susanne Knopf of St. Paul as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
