Larry Larsen Obituary

Larry was born June 27, 1947, the son of Wayne Larsen and Marion Munshaw Westerberg. Larry graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1965. He then continued his education at Western State College where he met his beloved wife Joyce at the age of 22. They married in 1970 and settled in Golden where they had three children - Brandon, Dane, and Devon. Larry and Joyce have shared 52 years of marriage.
Surviving in addition to his wife Joyce are his son Brandon (and wife Ali) and grandson Jayden, son Dane and grandson Wyatt, and daughter Devon (and husband Carlos Casali) and grandsons Noah, Adam and Luca. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Linda Lou and Terry Brenner.
Larry's passions included studying Scripture from a Messianic Jewish perspective, doting on his grandsons and following their sports activities, going on Sunday drives into the mountains with his wife Joyce, and playing golf. In his younger years, Larry had a passion for skiing and boating.
He was the proud third generation owner of the family business, Larsen Warehouse, which he dedicated a lifetime to.
A service of remembrance will be held on Sunday, April 2nd from 1-3 p.m. at the Crystal Rose located at 636 Lookout Mountain Road, Golden, CO 80401.

I have been acquainted with Larry for decades through my freight deliveries to/from Larsen Warehouse. My delivery area changed six months before his passing so I didn't learn of this sad news until today.
Larry was the head of Larsen Warehouse for approximately 50 years, taking over in his mid-20s after his father's untimely passing. Even though he had numerous employees, he was a very active business owner who was operating a forklift on the warehouse floor as often as he was in the office, it seemed. The statement in his obituary that he "dedicated his life to Larsen Warehouse" is one that I witnessed first-hand.
Condolences to his loving and loved family. He was one of a kind. Rest in peace, Larry.
