A service for Larry Lichtenberg and Clarice Dameron Lichtenberg will be held Saturday, December 23rd at the First Baptist Church in Roodhouse, IL at 11, where they were married 62 years ago that day. They were college sweethearts graduating from Northeast Missouri University in Kirksville. They leave behind their only child Juliebelle and her husband Bob who faithfully served them as caregivers during their last remaining years.
Clarice was a former resident of Roodhouse, daughter of Leo and Cora Dameron, owners of the Dameron Sheltered Care Home, where she helped her parents and also taught at Roodhouse High School. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution for over 40 years. She was a founding member and served the Paradise Valley Chapter for 8 years as Chaplain, and DAR Arizona State Constitution Week Chairman for many years. She has been a member of the Apple Creek Prairie Chapter for many years. Her motto was "A Better America Begins with Me". She wrote and directed the official Bicentennial Commission musical called "Arizona's Heritage Blessed by God Pageant". She impacted the lives of thousands of elementary students as a Speech and Language Pathologist in Phoenix, AZ. She received the Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge for teaching her students patriotism. She wrote many family history books including "We Remember the Carrigers", "We Remember the Allens" and "We Remember the Damerons".
Larry was the son of Kenneth and Evelyn Lichtenberg, owners of the Dairy Queen in Kirksville, MO. His career was in engineering, retiring as a Staff Scientist from Motorola. He was an internationally recognized leader in his field, published author and presenter. He got to work with his daughter on the 2000 Census which was a joy for both of them. He loved the outdoors and later in life he got interested in genealogy and was finally able to join the Sons of the American Revolution, serving as the Chapter President. He wrote a book "We Remember the Lichtenbergs, Laucks and Morris Families".
Because of the awesome gift of Christmas, God's plan to redeem and restore the relationship of mankind through the offering of His son Jesus as an offering for our sins, and the acceptance of this free gift of salvation, we know where Larry and Clarice are. They are embraced by Jesus, walking the streets of gold. Thank you Lord for being willing to leave heaven, be born and walk among us, suffer and pay the price for our sins, and rise victorious over the grave so we can have eternal life with you. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. "
Burial will be held at Pine Tree Cemetery.
