Larry Monroe Manen, age 73, of Harrison, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, Sept. 5 (2021) at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.
Larry was born on June 21,1948, in Liberty, Texas, to Noel Shirdie and Bonnalynn Jennings Manen. Larry was saved in 1983, baptized on Jan. 29, 1984, and was a faithful member of Batavia Assembly of God for 38 years.
He was a cowboy at heart and a veteran of the Vietnam War, but his passion was his wife, kids, grandkids, singing on the church praise team, playing guitar, and riding horses with his wife, Francy. He was an overcomer who wanted nothing more than to better the lives of his family.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gary Manen; and the mother of his children, Sherry Manen Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Francy Crittenden Manen, of Harrison; his three children, Melissa Peck and her husband Dale, of Harrison, Angie Brown and her husband Luke, of Conway, and Jason Manen and his wife Laurie, of Harrison; his three brothers, Jimmy Manen, of Baytown, Texas, Richard Manen and wife Robbie, and Allen Manen and wife Sherita, all of Ponca; his grandchildren, Dawson Peck, Maddox Peck, Gretchen Peck, Tailer Manen, Fischer Manen, Stella "Monroe" Brown and Caroline Brown; his stepchildren, Debbie Moneypenny Erwin and husband Darrell, of San Diego, California, and Jim Moneypenny Jr. and his wife, Wendy, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and step-grandchildren, Phillip Erwin, Sarah Parkes and Trevor Erwin, all of southern California; his step great-granddaughter, Kylie Erwin; his step-siblings; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Batavia Assembly of God with Pastor Tollie J. Sutterfield and Pastor Phillip C. Collie II officiating. Burial with military honors provided by Fort Sill, Oklahoma, will be in Mossville Cemetery at Mossville under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel. Cowboy boots and hats are welcomed.
Pallbearers will be Jason Manen, Dale Peck, Luke Brown, Dawson Peck, Maddox Peck and Dustin Manen.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made for medical expenses for his two-year-old great-niece, Haivyn, as she undergoes treatment for lymphoma. He prayed over her even in his last days. To give, search "Help Haivyn" by Dustin Jackson on
