Larry Junior Martin

Larry J. Martin, 83 years young, passed to his rest on Saturday, September 6, 2025, and awaits the soon return of Christ. Born and raised in Nashville and Joelton, TN.

Larry was a proud Army veteran and retired purchaser with Nashville Electric Service. Most notably known by friends and family as a hobby farmer and country music singer/songwriter, he spent the last thirty-three years as a resident of Merritt Island, FL providing security services to Cape Canaveral and NASA affiliates. His love of fishing and country music kept him near the beach and a frequent visitor on music row in Nashville where he recorded several independent country albums. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and a faithful follower of Christ. Larry spent his final days surrounded by his children and longed for resurrection morning when he will be reunited with his Savior and youngest daughter, Chesalon.

Larry was preceded in death by Fred Martin (father), Mary Josephine Sadler Milliken (mother), Andrew "Shine" Milliken (stepfather), Linda Faye Merritt (sister), and Chesalon Janna Martin (daughter).

Larry is survived by children Dwayne William Cole, Shauna Gail Martin, and Bethany Summer Helm.

There will be a graveside service with Army Military Honors for Larry at 3:30 pm on Friday, September 12th, 2025 at Portland Memorial Gardens in Portland, TN.
