Larry McCully

Larry McCully, 86, of Minerva, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on December 9, 1939, in Carrollton, Ohio, Larry was the son of the late Ralph and Romaine (Bates) McCully.

He graduated from Carrollton High School with the Class of 1957 and went on to enjoy a dedicated career with American Electric Power (AEP), where he worked for over 30 years before retiring.

A longtime resident of the area, Larry was a proud member of the Minerva Eagles 2199. He also gave generously of his time as a volunteer at the Algonquin Mill Festival, contributing to the preservation and celebration of local history and community traditions.

Larry is survived by his son, Michael McCully; grandchildren, Rachel and Ryan; sisters, Peg Slates McDonald, Ruth (John) Davis, and Martha (Bob) McCort.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Romaine McCully; daughter, Kristen Kay Stevenson; brother, Chauncey McCully; and sisters, Dorothy Haugh and Janet Lehman.

Funeral services for Larry will be Friday, February 6, 2026 at noon in Dodds Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Dawson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton.
