Larry David McFann, age 84, of Fostoria, Ohio formally of Wayne, Ohio passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday May,11 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 23rd, 1940, in Ironton, Ohio to the late Shirley (McFann) Skaggs. Larry married the love of his life Nancy Aldridge on June 26, 1962
Surviving Larry are his loving wife of 62 years; Nancy, Son David (Cindy) McFann, of Wayne, Ohio, Daughter Janis (Mark) Nelson, of Wayne. Ohio Daughter in Law Kim McFann, of Sylvania, Ohio.
Grandchildren, Ryan (Megan) McFann, of Bowling Green, Ohio, Kamila ( Jose) McFann, of Wayne, Ohio, Christopher (Colleen) Nelson of North Baltimore, Ohio, and Adam Nelson of Wayne. Ohio
Great Grandchildren, Kendra, Easton, Layla, Maysn, Jamie, Julian and Benjamin
He will be sadly missed by his brother Timothy Scaggs, Ironton, Ohio and Sisters Dottie (Bill) Malone, Pedro, Ohio, Nancy (Bill) Bradshaw, Pedro, Ohio and Rita Aldridge of Ironton, Ohio. Also, by Chloette (Scott) Kuhlman of Asheville, NC and Scott (Heidi) Evans of Pedro, Ohio along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Shirley and his maternal Grandparents William D. McFann and Maddie (Russell) McFann. Son, Thomas McFann and Brother Millard Scaggs Jr, Brother in Laws James Aldridge, Gary Aldridge, Sister in Laws Barbara (LeRoy) Johnson and Carol Jean Neff.
Larry served his country proudly in the Ohio National Guard and Army Reserves from 1958 to 1964. He later attended Jackson Ohio Training Center specializing in welding. He brought his family to Bowling Green, Ohio as he worked at Daybrook Corporation, later employed by Grover Manufacturing in Lucky, Ohio and retiring in 2003 from his welding career with Modine Manufacturing, Pemberville, Ohio.
He was a member of Fostoria Church of God, Fostoria, Ohio, He enjoyed watching football with his wife Nancy cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburg Steelers, taking walks with his furry companions Rocky and Spike. Most of all, spending time with his family, playing euchre and watching his favorite TV Shows.
Per Larry's wishes all arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio having a private graveside funeral with Pastor Daniel Lucien, Fostoria Church of God Officiating, burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, West Millgrove, Ohio.
