Larry I McPherson

Larry I. McPherson, 87, of Clearwater, passed away peacefully in his home with family at his side on January 30th, 2026. Born October 31st, 1938, in Lewiston to Bill and Almie (Davis) McPherson. Larry attended school primarily in Kooskia, where he later taught.

He married Mary McNeil, and they raised their two children while teaching in Lakeview, Oregon, Elk City and Kooskia. Larry spent many summers working with draft horses logging and making firewood. He also created Mac's RV's Ltd with his son, specializing in Ski-Doo's, VW bugs, and 70's Ford pickups. Larry was instrumental in the formation and continuation of the Idaho County Sheriff's Posse, successfully completing many search and rescue missions in the area that he loved and knew so well.

Larry was preceded by his parents, brothers Billy and Don, sister Marie.

Larry left behind, for now, his wife of 66 years, Mary, son Michael McPherson, daughter and son-in-law Molly and Ray Stowers, grandsons and granddaughters Tyson and Anna Stowers, and Tate and NaTosha Stowers, and four precious great-grandchildren Kira, Rylee, Harrison and Rhett. He also left behind brother-in-law John McNeil and his family, nieces, nephews, and cousins that he cherished.
