Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home - CalhounLarry Junior Mulkey of Ranger, Georgia, a cherished and beloved individual, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on February 6, 1948, to the late JD Mulkey and Adell Brannon Mulkey. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 – 1974. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Mulkey, Harry Mulkey, and Billy Ray Mulkey; sisters, Barbara Mulkey, Patricia Collis, and Joan (Castle) Edmonds; and several close friends.
Larry, known lovingly by many as “Mulkey,” was a gentle and hard-working man who touched the lives of those around him with his generosity and wit. Larry was a jack of all trades and was the go-to “Mr. Fix It” for so many who knew him. Whether it was a mechanical issue or a broken heart, for Larry’s family and friends, he was the man to see. His door was always open to “make yourself at home.” And Larry truly meant it.
Larry loved his family, his friends, and a good cup of black coffee, especially with good conversation and plenty of laughs. He was the “Mayor of the Waffle House,” and could often be found there cracking jokes and chatting with anyone and everyone. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and warmth that will live on in all who had the honor of knowing him.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Candi (Russell) Fite and Rosemarie (Alex) Franklin; sister, Theresa Mulkey and Wanda (Johnny) Densmore; sister-in-law, Marie Mulkey; brother-in-law, Terry Collis; grandchildren, Kimberly Fite, MaKayla Quinton, Destiny Quinton, Patrisha Glass, Maurice Moore, and Ryder Jackson; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Victoria, Zepplinn, Reid, Ella, Jack, Ashton, Julieanna, Mila, and Truth; best friends, Larrie Freeze, Junior Holsomback, and many more. Many nieces, nephews, and “adopted family” also survive.
Larry will be greatly missed and always remembered.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
