Larry Lee Nowotny

Larry Lee Nowotny, age 80, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025. Larry is survived by his wife Darlene Nowotny; his daughter Michele (Vince) Baudek; his grandchildren Emerson, Adeline and Nashton and his sister Jeanine (the late Steven) Nowotny-Neuse. He is preceded in death by his daughter Sarah Rae Nowotny and his parents Frank and Idabelle Heitkamp Nowotny.
Larry had a lifelong love of sports. In high school and college, he played football, basketball, baseball, and track. After serving in the Army, he went on to coach football at several schools, with La Marque High School and New Braunfels Canyon High School holding a special place in his heart. He was deeply fulfilled by mentoring and coaching his athletes. In retirement, he enjoyed personal training, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and following all of their activities. Larry had a deep love for the Lord and was devoted to St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Braunfels, Texas. He also held a strong and lasting love for his Texas roots.
Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2026 beginning at 6pm. A memorial service will begin at 6:30pm with Military Funeral Honors. Cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry's memory to research for Kennedy's disease or Battens disease.
