Larry Gene Owens Sr, age 74, of Kermit, TX passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Larry was born on November 10, 1950 in Waldron, AR to Euell and Reba (Hayden) Owens. Larry married Carolyn Sue (Bale) on June 7, 1970 in Kermit, TX and the celebrated 38 years together before her death in 2009.
Larry loved to play the guitar, ride motorcycles, and drive his fast cars. He was a very friendly person and love to meet new people and make friends. He was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing, he also had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. If you asked him he would tell you he was a professional goof-off and grouch. To his friends and family he was known as "Big Larry", "Pampa", or "Pa". He was a devoted father and husband and will be missed beyond words.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife: Carolyn Owens; son: Kary Owens; parents: Euell and Reba; and mother-in-law: Opal Bale.
He is survived by his son: Larry Owens Jr. and wife Roxanne of Kermit, TX; daughter: Stephanie Underwood of Kermit, TX; brother: Ricky Owens and wife Katrina of Abilene, TX; grandchildren: Brooklyn, Macaela, Alyssa, Jasmine, Devin, Joseph, Avery, and Brother; great-grandchildren: Sonny, Layton, Phoebe, Ryland, and Mayzie.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit with burial following at Kermit Cemetery officiated by Jackie Redmon. Pallbearers will include: Tommy Mayhall, Kyle Griffin, J.J. Norton, Jayden Norton, Chris Rendall, and John Felan. Honorary Pallbearers will include: Bobby Davis, Larry Bale Sr. Bill Hendricks, Ricky Owens, Gary Bradford Sr. Jackie Redmon, Robert Hill and Larry Spires.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor and condolences may be sent to the family at www.fs-fp.com.
