PHILLIPS, Larry Richard – of Davison, MI, age 84, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Friday, August 22, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-1 PM Friday, August 22, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care or to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, in Larry's memory.

Larry was born in Flint, MI on July 10, 1941, son of the late Ron and Gerry (McInnes) Phillips. He was a proud graduate of Kearsley High School, Class of 1959. That same year, he married the love of his life, Shirley Davis, on August 29, 1959, in Flint, MI-a partnership that would carry them through decades of laughter, love, and a fair share of adventures. A hardworking and determined man, Larry was the President and owner of King of All Manufacturing, a business founded by his grandfather, as well as Phillips Custom Blending, which he himself established. He poured his heart into his work, building on his family's legacy while creating one of his own. Larry was also a life member of the NRA. A true outdoorsman, Larry found his greatest joy in nature. He loved hunting and fishing, searching for morel mushrooms, and taking long rides through the woods in his truck. Whether alone, with Shirley, or surrounded by family, those moments in the outdoors brought him peace and happiness. His heart was always drawn "Up North," where the trees, lakes, and quiet trails felt most like home. Johannesburg, MI became their home in 2004 for 20 years. Larry had a way of turning a quiet day in nature into a memory worth keeping. He loved the simple things in life: the peace of the outdoors, the thrill of a good hunt, the comfort of family nearby, and the independence of taking the backroads. Larry's humor, honesty, and down-to-earth nature made him someone people naturally wanted to be around. He was strong-willed, yet soft-hearted where it counted. Larry leaves behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and love for the outdoors. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of time spent with him-whether around the dinner table, out in the woods, or on one of those spontaneous rides that always seemed to lead to a good story.

Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley Phillips; daughter, Shelly (Tony) Brookshire; 5 grandchildren, Amanda (Andrew) Wojcik, Kristina (Dan) Gay, Kaylee Brookshire, Christopher (Kristin) Phillips and Sarah Phillips; 5 great-grandchildren, with one on the way, Alivia Phillips, Aislyn Phillips, Kora Gay, Danella Gay, Anthony "Little Tiger" Wojcik and Baby Wojcik; dog companion Kerbie; 3 siblings, Jim (Audrey) Phillips, Bob (Kathy) Phillips and Reta (Greg) Johnson; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Gerry Phillips; son, Jeffrey Phillips; grandson, Michael Phillips and best friend, Dave Breaugh.
