Larry W. Pierce, 81, of Ringgold went home to be with his Lord Friday, February 28, 2025. Larry was born in 1943 in Chickamauga to the late Eugene and Lottie Pierce. He graduated from Mount Berry School for Boys in Rome where he was a decorated athlete in basketball and track. He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and member of Peavine Baptist Church where he enjoyed the men's breakfast ministry. Larry worked for Rossville Yarns, Barwick and Color Strand where he was the owner and operator. After many years in the textile industry, he retired to restart the family farm and be full time papaw to his loving grandchildren and grow a lot of the food his extended family ate. Larry loved sharing his faith with others and served the Lord with all his heart. Larry was a member of the Chattanooga area Emmaus Community, with many years of leading and serving Christian pilgrims in their journey with the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Pierce; sister, Lottie Jean Sharrock.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Ann Pierce; son, Wesley Pierce; daughter, Denise (Mike) Pierce Burns; brother, Fred (Donna) Pierce of Chickamauga; grandchildren, Cooper Burns of Overland Park, KS, William Burns, Eston Burns and Zta Kate Burns of Ringgold; several nieces and nephews also survive; sister in law, Margie Pierce.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Monday at Peavine Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Peavine Cemetery.
