Born November 18, 1944, in Allentown, PA, Larry was the son of the late Donald and Kathryn Mae Praetorius, formerly of Orefield, PA, and the husband of Ardie Praetorius for 26 years.

Larry graduated from Parkland HIgh School in Orefield, PA in 1962. He was a proud Eagle Scout and earned the God and Country Award. In 1966, Larry graduated from Catawba College and went on to serve 5 years as an Officer in the US Navy as a Lieutenant JG.

Larry worked for Burlington Industries for 33 years. After retiring, he built a second career as a custom home builder with his son-in-law, Dana Cristaldi. After his second retirement, Larry became an active member in the Tidewater Community in North Myrtle Beach, SC, as a charter member of the Red Cups and member of the Tidewater DRB. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Ardie to numerous countries around the world and golfing. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan throughout his life, especially the Phillies and Eagles, and was also an enthusiastic supporter of Tarheels basketball.

Larry and I were good friends and play mates in our younger years. We were both very involved with the Neffs Boy Scout troop. I last spoke with Larry shortly after he moved to North Carolina. He loved it there and I'm glad it became a home for him and his family. He 's moved on to an even better place, but he will be missed.

My brother, Dwight, and I grew up across the street from Larry. Our grandfathers were brothers. I have thought of him often over the years. My condolences on his passing. I know you must miss him very much.
