Larry B. "Pop" Saxon

Mr. Larry B. “Pop” Saxon, Sr., 85, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026 surrounded by family at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

Pop will be missed by his children, Lynn Lee (Anthony) and Buford Saxon (Teresa); grandchildren, April Smith (Rob), Dylan Saxon (Brooke), and Kylee Saxon (Trent); great-grandchildren, Xaylie, Jaxen, Larkynn, and Beckett; nephew and nieces, Bo Saxon (Paula), Debbie Hollingsworth (Darren), and Donna Romano (Gary); sister-in-law, Jean Saxon.

Pop was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Faye Peeples Saxon; grandson, Jakob Anthony Lee; great-granddaughter, Anslie Kamille Jenkins; parents, Leon Solomon Saxon and Henrietta Morris Saxon; brothers, Earl Saxon and Kenneth Saxon; nephew, Kevin Saxon. Pop worked his entire life in construction with M.C. Anderson, then hauling heavy equipment with his own truck, then for Sherman Concrete. He spent the last 13 years working for his son’s company, B&D Clearing, alongside his grandson and other family. He was an auto enthusiast, especially old cars, and he also enjoyed working in his shop.

The graveside funeral and burial to honor Pop Larry’s life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Powers Baptist Church Cemetery located at the corner of Highway 80 and Old River Road in Eden, Georgia.
