Dr. Larry Neal Seidman, of Marlton, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on February 12, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, Larry was a respected psychologist and a husband and father.
Larry was the only child of Robert and Ruth Seidman. Although he encountered many obstacles and instability in his early life, he was able to sustain a committed family life with his wife, Jane Seidman, for 54 years. Together, they raised a family that includes their daughters, Jacqueline Seidman and Gwendolyn Seidman, as well as their son-in-law, Yuval Abrams. Larry's role as a father was also extended to his adored cat, Sandor, who brought new life into their home.
Professionally, Dr. Seidman was a pillar of the community, where he ran a private psychology practice for 25 years. Prior to starting his private practice, he worked as a school psychologist at a variety of high schools. After earning his Masters degree in school psychology, he went on to earn his Ph.D. at the age 45, as a career second-act. He completed his Ph.D. while working full time and commuting two hours each way to attend classes in New York. Larry's colleagues and clients alike will remember him for his intelligence, insight, and passion.
Beyond his professional achievements, Larry was a man of diverse interests. His love for music and musical theater often found him humming a tune and he amassed an impressive music collection. A true Shakespeare aficionado, he relished the beauty of the language found within those works. Larry's passion for the arts was matched only by his love for cinema, earning him the reputation of a consummate movie buff.
An avid reader, Larry's home was a testament to his insatiable appetite for knowledge, housing a collection of over 5,000 books. This personal library was a source of pride and joy, and an inspiration to his daughters who grew to share his values of lifelong learning and intellectual pursuits.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Have known Dr. Seidman for over thirty years, and it is with great sadness to learn of his passing. He was a good, kind individual and just want his family to know he will be missed by many.

I admired Dr. Seidman for his calm and chill demeanor; he was always accommodating to the needs of our clients. My clients loved him, and would often request him, even if he did not provide the services they needed. Dr. Seidman took the time to explain things to not only his clients, but to DCP&P/Social Workers. Dr. Seidman will be remembered as a patient, non-judgmental professional who respected his clients. He was greatly appreciated, and he will missed.

Heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Cleopatra.
