Larry Thomas Semones

Larry Thomas Semones, age 77, of Elizabeth City, NC passed away on May 22, 2024, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA. He was born in Wythe County, VA on October 1, 1946 to the late Leonard Semones and Edith Dean Semones. Larry worked as a foreman for heavy equipment for construction during his career. He attended URA Church. Larry was an ordained minister and worked with the Virginia Beach Police Department.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda Carroll Vernon Semones; daughter, Carroll Lynn Scruggs (Squeaky) of VA; two sons, Larry Thomas Semones II (Amy) of VA and Derrick Shane Semones of NC; seven grandchildren, Daniel Aldrich, Jessi Lynn Scruggs, Jason Thomas Merinar, Emily Truman, Larry Aldrich, Sydney Sakemiller and Chase Walker; and seven great-grandchildren, Breelyn, Laynie, Grayson, Jaxon, Hayden, Kaden, and DJ. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Verna Sue Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Pastor Eric Earhart officiating.
