Larry Edward Simpkins, 73, of Caseyville, IL, born April 2, 1951, in St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Caseyville, IL.
Larry was a member of the Ainad Shrine Temple of East St. Louis, as well as the Moose Lodge. He also enjoyed wrestling, fishing, and antique cars.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice Simpkins (nee Canady); his beloved life partner, Gertrude Ann Loyd; one sister, Sharon Mansfield; and two nephews, Hershel Wayne Allen Sissom, and Brian Mueller.
Cherishing Larry's memory are his four children, Amy (Dave) Pekala of O'Fallon, IL, Kristine McGlasson of Caseyville, IL, Travis McGlasson of E. Carondolet, IL, Jenna McGlasson of Belleville, IL; two sisters, Sandra (John) Sissom of O'Fallon, IL, Dana Mueller of Indiana; one aunt, Vivian Sloan of Farmington, MO; one uncle, Jim Simpkins of Farmington, MO; four grandchildren, Jacob Pekala, Sydney Pekala, Tyler McGlasson, Bree O'Guinn; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to The Shriner's Hospital for Children; https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Schildknecht Funeral Home; 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O'Fallon, IL 62269. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
