Randall Smithpeters, of Carson Springs, was called home at 82 years old on Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Bill Williamson and Herman Smithpeters, sister Myra Lewis, and cherished daughter Dawn "Sissy" Smithpeters. Randall is survived by his daughters Renea Smithpeters and Adrienne (Kalif) Hanshew, granddaughters Randi (Jayke) Hamill, Delani Smithpeters, and Hadley Hanshew, great-granddaughter Laine Smithpeters, sister, Kathy McCarter, and beloved former wife Jane Smithpeters of Newport.
Randall was born on October 13, 1941 in Cosby, TN and was a veteran of the US Army. He retired from the Newport City Fire Department where he served as Assistant Fire Chief. He was a member of Crossroads Community Church. Nothing brought Randall more joy than watching his granddaughters play, drinking fresh coffee on his front porch, and sharing stories of his golden days. He lived a fulfilling life, as he said, "I've done everything I wanted to do and been everywhere I wanted to go. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing."
Graveside service will be held 11 am Friday, January 12, 2024 in Union Cemetery, with Rick Clevenger officiating. Burial will follow.
Randall's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, with a special thanks to Tuan and Elena.
