Larry Lee Stapleton, 79, of Bedias, Texas, was born on June 30, 1945, in Coffeeville, Kansas, to proud parents, Seaborn and Rheba (Tackett) Stapleton, and made his entrance into glory on December 14, 2024.

Larry was a man who set a solid example for those around him. His work ethic was above board and his loyalty was worthy of admiration. Larry worked diligently in the elevator industry for many years as a technician and state inspector prior to eventual retirement. He was a professional in the industry and many sought his input regarding difficult tasks and other job-related challenges. Larry was also a patriot who had a deep love for his country and a strong sense of duty to serve. This led to his commitment to the US Navy where he served honorably. He was a courageous Vietnam veteran who remained faithful to the red, white and blue over the course of his life.

It is true that Larry loved his time in the elevator industry and his military service, but his greatest love of all was his family, his land, and even his cows. Larry never passed up opportunities to be with those who were closest to him, and he adored them all. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Larry was preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Betty Schulz.

Those who remain to cherish Larry’s memory are his wife of twenty-seven years, Susan Stapleton of Bedias; his son, Lane Stapleton (Melynda) of Midway; his daughters, Treena Morgan (Michael) and Kristen Lightner, both of Houston; his brother Gene Stapleton (Sandra) of College Station; his eight grandchildren, Sydney and Blaine Morgan, Cody and Cort Stapleton, Addie and Collin Tobias, Lyndie Dunn and Luke McDuffie; as well as other extended family, elevator coworkers and loving friends.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Dennis Lowery is scheduled for 11 A.M., Thursday, December 19, 2024, and will be held in the chapel of the Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Interment will take place at 2 P.M. in Brookside Memorial Park, Houston, Texas.
