Larry Stogsdill Obituary
Larry "DJ Larry" Stogsdill, 71, of University Place passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Larry grew up in Elma WA, a town he loved, before moving to Tacoma then University place. Although he worked in car sales for most of his life, his passion was bringing people together by doing what he loved as a DJ. He enjoyed Dancing, collecting memorabilia, shooting pool league with his children and best friends and was known to be one of the best modified fast pitch pitchers in the Tacoma Metro Parks league. Larry will be dearly missed and always remembered. He is survived by 3 beautiful Children Bub, Bean and Von, 3 amazing grandchildren Jay, "Kenny" and Kylie. Larry requested a celebration of life be held in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. Larry never knew a stranger so if you have ever had the pleasure of knowing him for one minute or countless years, please join us in celebrating his wonderful life at South Tacoma Eagles Aerie #2933, 7037 S Pine St, Tacoma WA 98409 on Saturday September 16th, 2023, from 1-5pm. If you have pictures or memories of Larry that you would like to share there will be a public photo gallery and open mic time to share during the Celebration.

Larry was a loving part of our family for many years through marraige to my sister. He shared many Thanksgiving, birthday and Christmas celebrations in Olympia with us. He was a kind and generous spirit, who loved a good hug. He became instant friends with whomever he met. We had great fun sharing stories and predictions about the Mariners and the Seahawks. He has been a part of Jim's football pool since it started many years ago, and often walked away with winnings at the season's conclusion. Family was everything to Larry, and he loved sharing stories about his kids and grandkids, and growing up in Tacoma--he was so proud of each of them. We are so saddened by his passing, but feel that our years of knowing him and having him as a fun and loving part of our family was a precious gift to us.
