Larry Morse Suttlemyre was born July 12, 1938, in Ogden Utah. He passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024 with his wife Marilyn by his side.

He was born to Clyde and Ethel Suttlemyre and was the second of four boys. His brothers are Gary, Jack, and Wayne. He Graduated from Ogden High in 1956. Following his graduation, he worked for a few years until deciding to serve a Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Central Atlantic Mission.

After serving an honorable mission, he continued his career at Sears while attending Weber State College. At WSC he met the love of his life in 1966, Marilyn Cottle. They were married on December 16th of that year in the Logan Utah Temple. He worked at Sears for 40 years, but his passion for all things Weber State thrived, leading Larry to “work” as an Usher at various Weber State events for 35+ years.

During their 57 years of marriage Larry and Marilyn had many epic adventures, but nothing meant more to Larry than his Family and his Testimony of Jesus Christ.

Their four children who joined them in their awesome journey of life and their spouses are Nancy (Jason) Stephens, Mindi (Loren) Young, Adam (Mindy) Suttlemyre, and Katy (Blaine) Nebeker. Along with thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Larry was a kind, loving, compassionate husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He spent his life loving, serving, and caring for others. He always put the wants and needs of his family and others before his own. Larry’s unconditional acceptance for all created an environment of unity and acceptance leading to many calling him by the nickname “Pops”.

Larry will always be remembered for the attention he gave to his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, in a teasing but always loving way. Larry will be remembered for having a pocketful of treats and change that he would graciously share with the grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Pops truly loved cheering and supporting his children, and especially his grandchildren in whatever activities they were involved in. He was their #1 Fan!!!!

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Wayne. He is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 57 years, four children and their spouses, his thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

We Love you Pops!

Until we meet again…….
