Yakima, WA - Larry passed away suddenly at his home. He had just fed his little 'welfare' birds for the last time.

He was born in Burley, Idaho to Wendell and Veda Tadlock. He grew up in Addy on his parents dairy farm. Graduating from Chewelah High School, he then went on to WSU and received his BA, a Masters Degree from New Mexico State University, and finally his PhD from WSU. He was very proud of his degrees -- he said when he started college he was sure he would flunk out.

He loved travel and adventure so he and Dee signed up for the Peace Corps and spent two years in India. That was an incredibly memorable experience. After he and Janet were married, they traveled coast to coast in their RV, lots of short trips to the ocean visiting family etc. They took three cruises, but he felt there was too much downtime. He preferred the RV, his motorcycle, or flying into a city, renting a car and covering as much ground as he could. He visited all but three states.

In about 1992 he took early retirement from his jobs as a VoTech school administrator and built a few duplexes, sold remodeled properties, etc. He said he never regretted retiring.

In 1993 he married Janet and welcomed her daughter and her son (Jesse) into his family. He was an adoring grandfather (Boppa) and loved taking Jesse, camping, cycling, shooting, etc.

He had a wonderful coffee group. They met five days a week to discuss anything and everything. Wonderful loyal friends, who were a very special part of his life.

Well, this wouldn't be complete without saying what a kind, generous, caring person he was. Our family will never be the same.

His grandson (Jesse) said his Boppa was the coolest nerd you'd ever want to meet.

A very sincere thanks to Dr. Gabriel Lascar and the caring staff at Cornerstone Medical.

Larry is survived by his wife Janet (the day before he passed they had spent a special day celebrating their 32nd wedding anniversary) his son Shane, stepdaughter, Crystal (Archie), grandson Jesse (Natasha) and great grandson, Carson, sister Linda (Bill), sister in law Leona (Jim) brother in law Jim (Jackie) his son's mother Dee, several nieces and nephews, and his little buddy Rocky Road.

He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Kyle, brothers Merle and Danny, and his little buddy of 17 years Harley Joe.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sat. July 26 at The Terraces at Summitview from 2 - 4, 229 N 40th Ave., Cascade Building.
