Larry Townsend Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rose Hill Funeral Home on Feb. 6, 2026.
Larry Paul Townsend, 77, of Middlefield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at Middlesex Health Hospice in Middletown.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Larry grew up in Windsor, the son of William and Josephine (Regini) Townsend. He spent his working years in sales and retired from Cummins Allison in New York,

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl (Howard) Townsend; his son, Larry Townsend Jr. (Karen); his daughter, Erinn Coletti (John Benitez); and his cherished grandchildren, Gavin Coletti; Connor and Peyton Benitez; and Charles and Theodore Townsend. He is also survived by his devoted sister-in-law, Deb Erickson (Craig).

In retirement, Larry found joy in working around his home and yard, where his creativity and ingenuity shone-he could truly MacGyver just about anything. When his health allowed, one of his greatest pleasures was driving his beloved 1963 Corvette, affectionately known as the Silver Princess. He was a familiar face at car shows and proudly enjoyed his time as a member of the Corvette Club of Connecticut.

Funeral services will be private and are under the care of Rose Hill Funeral Home. A celebration of Larry's life will be held in the spring.

Donations in Larry's memory may be made to the Middlesex Health Hospice Program, whose compassionate care meant so much to him and his family.
