Larry Wayne Trent

Larry Wayne Trent, loving and devoted father, Poppy, uncle, brother and friend left this world peacefully on April 5, 2023, at the age of 76 in his home under the care of his loving wife, family and Crater Community Hospice. He fought a hard battle with lung cancer. He is preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Cody Wayne Trent.
Larry is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Yvonne; children, Roger Trent (Jill McKenzie) and Terri Rosser; grandchildren, Chase Rosser, Grayson Rosser, Shane McKenzie, and Austin McKenzie; brother, Jack Trent; sisters, Lorena McClellan, Joy Johnson (Ernest), and Deloris Johnson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He also had many friends from working 45+ years at the Newport News Shipyard, where he made lifelong friendships and retired as a Master Shipfitter. Larry was a member of Wakefield Community Hunt Club and loved the outdoors and gardening, especially his roses.

A memorial service officiated by Rev. Glenn Riggs will be held at Wakefield United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 12pm. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 11am.
