Larry Ordean Valiant passed away on October 25, 2023 in Watkins, MN. A memorial service will be held at Johnson Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, MN on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM with a visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Inurnment to follow at St. Gertrude Catholic Cemetery in Forest City, MN.
Larry was born on July 3, 1955 to Lee Valiant and Holly (Blue) Valiant in Litchfield, MN. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1974 and worked at Custom Products for 20 years, as well as Valiant’s Plumbing, Hardware Hank, and Larry’s Plumbing. On June 21, 1974 he married the love of his life, Debbie Eder.
Larry loved traveling and camping almost every weekend, and he was a huge Vikings fan. He enjoyed working, riding his motorcycle, and driving in his 1967 Ford Galaxy convertible. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and helping people. He was always a happy-go-lucky person.
Larry Valiant was a man whose presence brought joy, laughter, and love into the lives of all who knew him. He was a devoted husband to Deb and a loving father to Charity. He worked as a plumber and enjoyed serving others. Larry’s greatest source of pride and joy came from becoming a father to Charity and eventually walking her down the aisle to marry the love of her life.
Anyone who knew Larry recognized his love for his motorcycle. Riding was a way of life that allowed him to experience the freedom of the open road and the camaraderie of fellow riders.
Larry is survived by his wife, Debbie Valiant; his daughter, Charity (Ed) Nistler; his step-grandchildren, Emily (Noah) Johnson, Lucas Nistler, and his grand-dog, Maverick; his siblings, Ron (Paula) Valiant, Gary (Kate) Valiant, Russel (Jackie) Valiant, Lee Jr. (Christine) Valiant, Becky (Dave) Clark, and Kent (Lisa) Valiant; and his lifetime friend, Dale Loch.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Holly Valiant.
Let us remember Larry’s warmth, laughter, humor, and the lessons he shared along the way. In his honor, let’s embrace life’s journey, do what makes us happy, and live big each and every day. He will be dearly missed, but forever remembered. May the wind always be behind him and may he ride free with the angels above as he watches over us.
