Larry Stiner Wattenbarger, age 74, of Niota, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, after a lengthy illness.
He was a son of the late William "Bill" and Josephine "Jay" Stiner Wattenbarger. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a proud member of Meigs Lodge #213 F.&A.M. for 53 years and an ironworker for Local 384 for 50 years in Knoxville, TN, and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Niota.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Nina Ruth Nash Stiner, Jacob and Tennessee Wattenbarger; sister: Sandra Kay Wattenbarger Jack.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years: Patricia Diane Redmond Wattenbarger; daughter: Melissa Wattenbarger of Niota; sons: Marc (Catherine) Wattenbarger of Lenior City, Cody (Paige) Wattenbarger of Apison; sister-in-law: Darlene Gentry; brother-in-law: Mike (Cheryl) Redmond; grandkids: Jacob (Katrina) Wattenbarger of Knoxville, Jaden Wattenbarger of Niota, Beau, William, and Margaret Wattenbarger of Apison; brothers: Gary (Diann) Wattenbarger of Decatur, Ed (Donna) Wattenbarger of Athens; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
A masonic service will be held at 3 p.m., on Friday, November 22, 2024, in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., prior to the service.
