Larry Dean Webber, a devoted husband, cherished father, beloved grandfather, and esteemed friend, passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 25, 2025. Born on September 13, 1942, in Mexico, Missouri, Larry lived a life filled with purpose and love.
Larry dedicated 30 years of his career to McDonnell Douglas as a Airplane Electrical Mechanic (MER), where he played a crucial role in the quality control and installation of electrical bundles for iconic aircraft including the F-18 Hornet Fighter Jet, F-4 Phantom, F-15 Eagle, and AV-8 Harrier. He also contributed significantly to the ground support equipment for the Gemini Space Program. Renowned for his perfectionism, it was often said that his work required no adjustments, a testament to his remarkable ability and dedication.
A man of quiet strength, Larry’s personality shone through in the gentle smile he wore and in the laughter he shared with his grandchildren during playful moments filled with high fives and lighthearted jokes. His love for life extended beyond his impressive career; he was an avid collector of books, enjoyed playing chess, and took delight in hobbies such as metal detecting and geocaching. He also loved Diet Pepsi and was an avid lover of cats. A true sports enthusiast, Larry was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team and the Blues Hockey team, finding joy in every game.
In addition to his many interests, Larry's faith and belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and his love for his family made a memorable impact on those around him. Larry’s marriage to Jeanette Webber was a proud accomplishment, one that spanned over 61 years. Together, they built a loving family that included their children, Kelley (Randall) Carlson and Gregory (Melissa) Webber, and their treasured grandchildren: Jared, Michael (Malory), Matthew, Emily, Haleigh, Courtney, and Lindsey - each of whom he was extraordinarily proud of.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanette Webber; loving children, Kelley (Randall) Carlson and Gregory (Melissa) Webber; grandchildren, Jared Carlson, Michael (Malory) Carlson, Matthew Carlson, Emily Carlson, Haleigh Webber, Courtney Webber, and Lindsey Webber; his brother, Ron (Lynette) Webber; sisters-in-law, Sharon Comstock and Marge Roberts; and many other extended family members who will remember him fondly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bryan "Delbert" and Veta "Delphine" Webber; his parents-in-law, Alvin and Maxine Roberts; and his brother-in-law Terry Roberts. While he has left this earthly realm, his spirit and the memories shared will continue to glow brightly in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Larry's visitation will be held on November 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Afterward, he will be laid to rest during a Graveside Service at Vandalia Cemetery in Vandalia, Missouri, at 1:00 PM.
