Larry Wilson was born August 16, 1957 in Bishopville, South Carolina, a son of Laddie Wilson and Bernetha Thomas
Johnson. He was educated in the public schools of Lee County and graduated from Bishopville High School in 1976. He also attended Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina.
Deacon Wilson accepted Christ at an early age and was ordained as a Deacon on May 30, 2004 at Lawson Grove Baptist Church. He, along with his wife, Almeta, joined Kay Branch Missionary Baptist Church in August 2009 and served his church faithfully including his service as a member of the Deacon's Ministry. He was also the president of the Senior Choir.
Deacon Wilson was employed for 17 years as a Deputy Weight Master at New South Lumber Company in Camden, South
Carolina. He retired from there in 2009. Larry loved his family and enjoyed holiday gatherings. He was truly the "life of the party" and took pride in being the jokester. He also loved cooking and sports. He was a remarkable mentor to
the young people in his family. All of the young people marveled at his wit, wisdom, and liked being around him.
