Lars Lemberg, 71, of Reston, VA passed away on December 22, 2024 with his wife Lia by his side. Lars was a special man with a very big heart full of love, who was always ready to understand and support others with a real, pure, and sincere love. He will be remembered as a man with the soul of an angel. Lars was born on October 12, 1953 in New York to Bror Lars Edward Lemberg and Rose Trager. As a child, Lars moved to Huntsville, AL and graduated from Butler High School in 1971. He attended Northern Virginia Community College and the University of Alabama.
Lars had a long and successful career as a computer programmer at IBM before retiring in 2006. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and very close friends. He loved traveling and took several cross-country trips on his motorcycle and in his camper van. He spent a lot of time in Costa Rica with his wife Lia where together they enjoyed his favorite place, Ventana Beach in Parque Marino las Baulas. He spent many years volunteering for the C&O Historical Society and loved playing trombone with his close friends and in many community bands. He was a very good golfer, loved riding his bicycle, and always rooted for Alabama football.
Lars was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn, his parents, and his brother Eric. He is survived by his wife Lia, his sister Chris (Don), his brothers Fred (Pam) and Alan, his daughters Cindy (Aimee) and Rena (Gene), his granddaughter Cameron, and his children and grandchildren of heart Enrique, Karen, Melissa, Sofia and Ruben. We will love you forever.
