LaRue English Mahoney

LaRue English Mahoney, of Brunswick, GA, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2023. She was 69 years old. LaRue was born in Greeneville, Tennessee and went to North Greene High School. She enlisted in the Air Force in September 1977 and served her country dutifully until her retirement on September 30, 1997. Although her life and career took her to many places, Fall Branch, Tennessee was the only place she called home. LaRue attracted lifelong friends everywhere she went. She had a way of instantly making people feel as if they had known her their whole life. She was a dedicated Christian, servicewoman, and mother.

LaRue was predeceased by her brothers, AJ English, Eddie English, and Dean English; and her sister, Edythe English. She is survived by her children, Robert Mahoney II ("JR"), of Saint Simon Island, Georgia, and Gabriel Mahoney with his wife Sha Liu Mahoney, of Newport Beach, California; her brother, Gale English; and sisters, Evelyn Williams and Eloyse Feuling.

LaRue touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, 1747 TN-93, Fall Branch, TN 37656 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023.  A funeral service will follow with Pastor Harold Morelock officiating.

A military funeral honors ceremony and interment will be at the Bethany Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery located at 625 Bethany Rd, Fall Branch, TN 37656 at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2023.
