Our husband, father, grandfather and friend Lary John Talbot, passed away September 23, 2025 in Taylorsville, Utah.
Lary was born June 28, 1940 to Elmer Henry Talbot and Dora Flinders Talbot. He graduated from West High School in 1958 and continued his schooling at the University of Utah receiving a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He married Betty Annette Noffsinger in Salt Lake City on May 7, 1960. This marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. After Betty’s death, he married Judy Lynne Wood in the Salt Lake Temple on August 18, 1967.
He was employed at Sperry Utah (later Unisys) for 30 years and later at Questar. After retirement, he was able to serve two service missions at the Riverton FamilySearch Library, the Book Scanning Center, and he was able to pursue family history research. Reading, photography, and hiking were some of his interests.
Lary was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as bishop, temple worker for nine years, Stake Clerk, and Stake Family History Coordinator. He also served in many other ward and stake callings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Henry Talbot and Dora Flinders Talbot, a brother Blen Talbot, his first wife, Betty Annette Noffsinger Talbot, and one daughter Kim Talbot. He is survived by his wife, Judy Lynne Talbot, two brothers Verl Talbot and Alan Talbot, a sister Beth Packard, and five children, Susan Talbot Sudweeks, Marci (Mark) Muszynski, John (Delitra) Talbot, Angie (Troy) Hamilton, and Scott (Alyson) Talbot; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., or on Saturday, September 27, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., both at 1457 Atherton Drive, Taylorsville, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27. Interment will take place at the Salt lake cemetery.
