Funeral Service for Laura Alwan will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Seaton officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Brownfield Funeral Home.
Laura was born on October 18, 1967, to J.P. & Stella Roe in Brownfield. She passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 57.
Laura graduated from Brownfield High School in 1986, setting the stage for a life of service. She began her professional journey as a police dispatcher, faithfully serving the communities of Brownfield, Lamesa, and Dumas. Her innate sense of duty and dedication was further exemplified during her years as a bookkeeper for the Texas Department of Transportation, from which she would retire, leaving a legacy of integrity and hard work. Even after retirement, she continued working, serving for the past five years as the construction records manager at Raba Kistner, Inc.
In 1992, Laura married the love of her life, Dale Alwan, with whom she shared 32 joyful years. Their partnership was a testament to love and unwavering support, and together they built a life filled with cherished memories. Laura's warmth and vivacious spirit will be deeply missed by her husband, Dale, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Aside from her professional accomplishments, Laura was passionate about dance, which served as both a joyous escape and a means of expression. Whether in the living room or at community events, she found happiness on the dance floor, bringing joy not just to herself but to all who watched her.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents J.P. and Stella Roe and daughter, Samantha Alwan. She is survived by her husband, Dale Alwan Sr.; children, Bethanie Kemp, Kendra Frapp, Dale Alwan Jr., and Nicholas Alwan; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and brothers, Clint Roe and Johnny Roe.
