Laura Lee Britton, 65, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025 with family at her bedside. She went to be with her heavenly Father and previous family members who were awaiting her arrival. Our loss was heaven's gain.
Laura Lee was born July 23, 1960 in McAlester, Oklahoma to James E. and Rita Marie (Daughtery) Britton. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1979. She went on mission trips to China and the Philippines with Nora Liam Ministires where she did the Lord's work. She loved to pray, sing, and write poems for people especially people who had lost loved ones. Her personality and smile would light up the room. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include a brother, James M. Britton of Dallas, TX; sisters, Teresa Hance, Jamie Britton, and Paula Cormier of McAlester, OK; Sister-friend, Kimberly Ellis of Culpeper, VA. Brother in law, Billy Bond of Krebs, OK. Niece, Randi Brinkley and spouse, Rodney, great-nieces Autumm, Emilee and Laramee Brinkley of Haywood, OK; along with other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rita Britton; her brother Charles Britton and sister Sherry Britton Bond and sister-friend Liz Lee.
Special thanks to Waynetta and her wonderful staff at Walnut Grove Living Center for all their love, compassion, and patience. Also special thanks to southeast hospice for their kind care.
Cremation arrangements are trusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
