Laura Ann Davis (Laurie), daughter of Dolores and the late David Davis passed away on August 17, 2023, at age 54, following a courageous battle with cancer. Laura is survived by her beautiful daughter, Lilly and mother, Dolores.  Raised in Canton, Michigan, Laura graduated from Salem High School and later earned her bachelor’s degree in forestry from Michigan State University.  Laura worked for the Township of Canton for 24 years and resided in Hamburg Township for the past 20 years where she loved nothing more than kayaking, hosting annual ‘floats’ down the Huron River, Sunday dinners, game nights, boating with friends and family, bonfire gatherings, Halloween celebrations (her favorite holiday) and spending time with her daughter, Lilly.  Laura’s genuine and stubborn nature was ever present in everything she did and cared for in her life.  She was fiercely independent and passionate about saving the environment, rescuing animals in need of loving homes, and she exhibited such joy for life and travel.  In Laura was a compassionate and sensitive heart willing to help those in greatest need.  She will be greatly missed by numerous friends and family who had the privilege of loving her in this lifetime and who will keep her free spirit alive through stories and memories shared about a life taken much too soon.

On Monday, August 21, 2023, family and friends will gather for visitation at Schrader-Howell Funeral Home located at 280 South Main Street in Plymouth from 11AM until 8PM.  A Celebration of Life Service will take place the following day, August 22, at the same location starting at 11AM.  Friends may visit from 10AM until the start of the service at 11AM.

Those who wish to honor the memory of Laura are invited to consider a contribution to Michigan Humane Society, 30300 Telegraph Road - Suite 220, Bingham Farms, Michigan 48025-4507.  Contribution envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
