Laura Jane Fannin, 89, of Kings Mountain, passed away at Peak Resources, Cherryville on April 8, 2024. She was born January 11, 1935, in Letcher County, KY to the late Hiram Wesley Holcomb and Nettie Bentley Holcomb Taylor.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Vanover, Billie McKinney; brothers, Otho Holcomb, Hiram Holcomb.
Laura was devoted to serving her Lord and Savior. She walked with him well through her life as a pastor’s wife and as a nurse. She graduated from Gaston College with an RN degree at the age of 55. Laura used her nursing skills for many years. She loved her family and many friends who will miss her greatly.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Lewis Kenneth Fannin II (Melissa); daughters, Meta Fannin Macintyre, Beverly Fannin Richey Fox, Barbara Fannin Walker Thompson; brother, Prince Holcomb; sisters, Georgia Hufford, Sadie Jones, Bessie Hewitt, 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City on Friday, April 12, 2024.
Laura’s Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dennis Gomez officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Via Health Partners - c/o Wendover Hospice House, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150.
