Laura Mae (Heckert) Flemming is now resting in the arms of her dear Savior Jesus Christ on November 2, 2025; after living a full life of 97 years here on earth. Laura was born to Elmer and Althea Heckert in Deerbrook, Wisconsin on April 27, 1928. She was the oldest of four children: Russell, Kenneth and Shirley (Zalewski) - all deceased.
Laura married the love of her life on May 12, 1951, to Gerhardt Flemming in Polar, Wisconsin. They had three children: Susan, Diana and Michael. Laura loved the outdoors, especially weeding her flower beds. She loved to golf at the Red Barn Golf Course in Rockton, IL. Laura was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed reupholstering furniture and making rag rugs for herself and family.
Laura was very involved in several churches over the span of their marriage of 49+ years. Church involvement was very important to their family. Laura was an alto in choir, performed in a bell choir, volunteered for children's nursery and Vacation Bible School; and sewed for the White Cross ministry. She was a 40-year member of Hope Evangelical Free Church in Roscoe, Illinois.
Susan (Adams-Woodman), married to Steven Woodman, children: Jason Adams, married to Eileen (Johnson), children: Edie, Mae and Pepper. Kristi Owens, children: Gabriel married to Myah (Gorzynski), Michael and Zakari; Anna Ebner, children: Drake and stepson McLaine, and Eric Woodman.
Diana (Wutke), married to John Wutke and have three daughters and four grandchildren: Megan married to Austin Dyck; Janna married to Kevin Duban, children: Clara, Peter, Josie and Caleb; and Amy married to Kyle Kasprzyk.
Michael's surviving widow is Kimm (Rubitsky) Flemming.
Funeral arrangements are through McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel and Hope Evangelical Free Church, Roscoe, Illinois. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date. A private ceremony is planned at the East Delavan Cemetery, Delavan, Wisconsin.
