Laura S. (Saraiva) Fonseca, 101, passed away Tuesday October 22, 2024. She was the wife of the late Antonio Fonseca. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Geronimo and Maria (de Neves) Saraiva.
Mrs. Fonseca was an aide at the Wrentham State Hospital for 20 years before retiring. She has been a Cumberland resident for over 50 years and was a member of the Cumberland Senior Center and enjoyed traveling with the seniors.
She is survived by her son Antonio "Tony" S. Fonseca and his wife Dianne of Lincoln and her daughter Laura Y. Fonseca Meunier of Safety Harbour, FL. She was the sister of the late Grace Ereio and Mary Szlashta. Laura was the grandmother of Antonio E. Fonseca, Vincent M. Fonseca and the late Eric T. Meunier and the late Michele Y. Meunier. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held Friday October 25, 2024 from the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Pike, Greenville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Philip's Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Graveside burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation will be held in the funeral home, Thursday October 24, 2024 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to VFW of RI, 1 Capital Hill, Providence, RI 02908 will be appreciated.
