Laura Ruth (Henderson) LeMoine, a beacon of love and creativity, was called to her eternal rest on the 8th of September in the year of our Lord 2025. Born in the warm embrace of San Marcos, Texas, on the 21st of July, 1955, Laura's journey through life was one of joy, intelligence, and boundless affection. Her final moments were spent in
Conroe, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family and the peace of her faith. Laura lived in many places throughout her life including Alamogordo, New Mexico, and Channelview, Texas. Her parents were originally from Missouri and her father was in the Navy and Air Force, which meant she lived overseas as a young child in places such as Japan and Guam. Laura loved taking vacations with her family especially to Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando. She also loved water, and enjoyed trips to the beach, water parks, or swimming in the family's pool in Channelview.
A union blessed by Heaven, Laura and her devoted husband, Ernest Edward LeMoine, navigated the waters of life together for 52 years, a testament to their unwavering commitment and love. Their bond was further enriched by the birth of their beloved daughter, Tiffany Rose LeMoine, who inherited her mother's passion for the written word and the fantastical realms of imagination.
Laura's legacy is carried forth by a tapestry of family members, each a thread interwoven into the fabric of her life. Her sisters, Kathleen Lewis with her husband Robert of Lexington, Kentucky, and Joan Sheets of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her brothers, Ralph Henderson of Austin, Texas, and Daniel with his wife Carmen of Ave Maria, Florida, all shared in the joys and sorrows of life's rich pageant alongside her. Her nephews and nieces-Stanley, Chris, LeaAnn, Janet, Brandi, Charlie, Nicholas, Mark, Steven, Phillip, Teresa, and Emily-were cherished by Laura, each holding a special place in her heart. Her sisters-in-law, Frances LeBaron and Elaine Starovic, both of
Conroe, Texas, also mourn her passing, joined by a host of extended family and friends. Laura now reunites in glory with her beloved parents, Paul Roland Henderson and Alice Marie (Parres) Henderson, and her brother John Patrick Henderson, who preceded her in death.
Laura's formative years were spent within the halls of Alamogordo High School, where the seeds of her lifelong love for literature and the arts were sown. A talented writer and lifelong reader, Laura's passion for historical fiction, science fiction, and fantasy created a haven of wonder and imagination, a legacy she delighted in sharing with her daughter.
Her faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her through life's trials and triumphs with grace and fortitude. One of the highlights of her life was attending Highlands Baptist Church in Highlands, TX where she was baptized and attended church regularly through the 1990s until the family relocated. A memorial will be held there at a later date. Laura's interests were a reflection of her vibrant spirit-music to stir the soul, drawing to capture the beauty of creation, and the joy of television to traverse worlds unknown.
Described by those who knew her as loving, creative, and intelligent, Laura's spirit was a light that shone brightly in the lives of all she touched. In the words of the esteemed poet Emily Dickinson, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." Laura's love, indeed, is her eternal legacy, a flame that will never be extinguished in the hearts of those who loved her.
As we bid farewell to Laura Ruth (Henderson) LeMoine, we are reminded of the bard, William Shakespeare, who penned, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players; they have their exits and their entrances." Laura played her role with a grace and love that will forever be remembered, her exit leaving an indelible mark upon the stage of life.
