Laura Lee (Haney) Mann, age 50, of Fountain City, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully following a brief illness on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse.

She was born in La Grange, IL  on September 15, 1972, the daughter of Leslie and Lorraine (Brzeczek) Haney

Laura attended Lyons Township High School in La Grange, graduating with the class of 1990.  She then attended DuPage Community College in Glen Ellyn, IL before transferring to Winona State University where she would graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in 1998.  Laura then went on to earn her Master's degree at Metropolitan State University in Minneapolis.

On October 7, 2000, Laura was united in marriage to Jeffrey Mann at McKinley United Methodist Church in Winona.  To this loving union, two daughters were born.

Laura and Jeff were best friends.

Laura started a career at Winona State University, which spanned 29 years, starting in the book store as textbook manager and being promoted to purchasing director for the University.

Laura recently accepted a position with the Wisconsin University System as a procurement manager.  She worked with all Universities within the Wisconsin State System.

Laura was  a member of the Cochrane-Fountain City PTO and was an instrumental contributor to the success of the annual C-FC craft fair since its inception.  She loved to help and volunteer her time and talents.

Laura was an extremely talented person in whatever she did.

She loved making crafts of all kinds, and especially liked to make yard dice sets.

She was an exceptional cook and loved to grill.  Laura loved to travel to warmer destinations, with Las Vegas being top on her list.  Her favorite part was to take in the shows and entertainment available.

Laura was a lady with a caring and sharing heart who would always put the needs of others before her own.  Her greatest and most treasured memory will be the unending love and devotion she had for her family, especially her two precious daughters that she would do anything for.

Laura will be sadly missed  by her husband of nearly 23 years, Jeffrey; daughters, Aberlyn and Emmalee; parents Les and Lorraine Haney; father and mother in law, Dale and Sharon Mann and her faithful furry companions, Libby and Charlee along with cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.

A memorial gathering will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church 114 W Broadway Street -Winona, MN at 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Saturday August 26, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Laura’s name is being established.
