Laura Maxwell gained her angel wings on March 08, 2023 at LDS Hopsital in SLC, UT. Laura was 77 years old.
Laura's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were Blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint She left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that She stayed here. Laura was talented and adventurous in many aspects of her life. She was a master of crochet, an avid 49ers fan and an amazing grandmother and mother. When Laura wasn't working on her hobbies or watching blue bloods, she could be found in her chair, practicing crocheting clothes and blankets for any newborns in her community. Not a day went by where Laura didn't talk about how much her children and family meant to her -- her family was arguably her most important achievement in life. Laura is survived by Lamar, Kimberly and Kathleen Atkinson, her loving children, Stephanie, Natalie, Lorna, Ivan, Brian, Aleisha, her honorary children Travis and Trisha, her grand-children, Shauntay and Austin, Kevin, Gage, Aspen, Kalob, Morgan, Tristin, Aesen, Traven, Tallen, Shaylynn, Chloe, Zadyn, Madilynn and Mylee, and countless friends. Laura was predeceased by her son, Clarence Franklin Atkinson, Margarette Atkinson, Sandra Atkinson and Carolyn Hanes Atkinson. Services are still being organized. Please consider making a contribution to her go fund me. In lieu of flowers please send them to Stephanie Maxwell.
Laura was one of a kind. She was someone who anyone could feel safe with. Anyone who needed a mother could always come to Laura and she would love them unconditionally. She changed so many lives and was so loved. She put everyone above herself. She has been described as a saint by many. She didn't have a mean bone in her body. Anything you needed she would be there to give it to you. She was always a good member of the community. She was there for her neighbors and friends when they needed support. Stephanie and Kimberly were her caretakers for so long. They did so well in taking care of her and gave her the best quality of life that they could in her last years. Kim loved watching the police shows with Laura and doing puzzles with her.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at the Russon Mortuary, 1585 West 300 South, Syracuse, Utah. A viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
