OBITUARY
Laura McMichen McElroy, of Good Hope, Georgia, passed away on June 1, 2025. She was born in Atlanta, on August 9, 1933 to the late Vera Futrelle and the late Marselion Salathiel McMichen.
Preceding Laura in death is her loving husband, James William "Jim" McElroy; brother, Ricky Zimmer; sisters, Juanita Keenum and Eva Morse.
Surviving Laura are her sons, Jeffrey William McElroy (Cindy Hawkins), Phillip James McElroy (Judy); daughter, Sharon McElroy Carroll; grandchildren, Laura Carroll, Tom Carroll, Jocelyn McElroy Wright (Sean), Chase McElroy; great grandchildren, Ashley Taylor Carroll, Finley Annette Wright.
Laura McElroy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and especially as a dedicated servant of the Lord.
A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am, and a funeral service will begin at 11:00am, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Prospect Church at Oak Hill, with Ron Compton officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service in the cemetery of Prospect Church at Oak Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks a tree be planted in Laura's name at www.arborday.org.
Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
