Lauralee Schiraga (Uccelli), 73, of Lawrence, MA (formerly of Brewster, MA), passed away peacefully at the Royal Wood Mill Nursing and Rehab on October 5, 2025.
She graduated high school in 1969 in Dorchester, MA, then went to Emerson College for her nursing degree. Nursing was her true calling and if you were lucky to have her as your nurse, you were truly blessed.
She began her career as a labor and delivery nurse at St. Margaret's Hospital in Dorchester. She supported countless families. Over the years, she expanded her care to those in more vulnerable situations; serving as a psychiatric nurse and finally as a hospice nurse.
Lauralee was the Director of Nursing at the Latham Center in Brewster, MA. The impact she had on her patients is impossible to measure, but one testament to her legacy is that a former patient of hers named her daughter after her. Lauralee's care and compassion did not stop at the workplace. She volunteered her time and heart to the Rape Crisis Center of Rhode Island, offering her strength and support to the people who were the most in need.
Lauralee was a woman with a big heart who was always there to help and comfort. Her life's purpose was very clear: to help others. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she's united with other family members in Heaven. Lauralee will forever live on in their hearts.
Lauralee was born in Boston, MA. She was the daughter of the late Grace and John Uccelli. She was predeceased by her sisters Roberta Sferruzza and Beverly Mansolilli, and her brother Gerry Sferruzza.
Lauralee is survived by her children Melanie Stone and her husband Stephen of Oxford, MA; Jessica Simpson and her husband Matthew of Bellingham, MA, Jared of Brewster, MA; grandson Keegan of Harwich; niece Lisa Law and her husband Joe Law; as well as many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Assisting the family with arrangements is Phaneuf Funeral Home, Nashua. At Lauralee's request, there will be no services.
