Michael Anthony Letizio of Methuen and Salisbury Beach, MA passed away peacefully at his home in Methuen on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the age of 86 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 29, 1939, at the Clover Hill Hospital and was the son of the late Antonio and Margaret (Campiola) Letizio. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Carolyn Tiner and Rosalyn McWhinnie; his brothers-in-law, Richard Tiner, Darwin Hasse, and Paul McWhinnie and his in laws, Louis and Connie Loffredo.

Michael met his wife, Sandra (Loffredo) Letizio at Salisbury Beach and they were happily married on March 2, 1974, and spent 51 years together. He was the proud father of his son, David Michael Letizio of Methuen and Salisbury Beach, MA.

Michael graduated from Lawrence High School class of 1956 and Bentley College Class of 1961. He and his wife were parishioners of Holy Rosary Shrine, Lawrence, MA and Star of the Sea Church, Salisbury, MA.

Michael worked as a Purchasing Manager for Malden Mills, Microfibers in Fall River, MA and General Tire in Reading, MA. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Andover in 2004. He also served with the U.S Air Force Reserves and was called up to active duty during the time of the Cuban Missile Crises.

He was a respectful, kind, gentle, and mild-mannered person who enjoyed simple pleasures reading, puzzles, and taking long walks with his best friend, his beagle Barney Rubble. Michael loved New England sports and appreciated everything and complained about nothing, just easy-going, enjoying family and lifelong friendships. He and his wife made many trips to Disney World and enjoyed staying at their favorite hotel, The Grand Floridian. For the past 50 years, he and his wife Sandra have enjoyed every summer at their home at Salisbury Beach with family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice at Home nurses and his CNA Theodora, who took excellent and compassionate care of Michael.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Sandra A. (Loffredo) Letizio and his cherished son, David M. Letizio both Methuen and Salisbury Beach, MA and his devoted sister-in-law, Diana Loffredo of Salem, NH. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 3:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen, MA. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 8:30 – 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Shrine, 28 Union St. Lawrence, MA. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.
