Laureen Rose Greco

1958 - 2025

Laureen Rose Greco, 67, of Whitesboro, entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 20, at Albany Medical Center.

Though her heart gave way, she demonstrated courage and resilience to the end.

Laureen was predeceased by her mother, Nancy, and most recently by her loyal friend and partner, Linda Abramczyk.

She is survived by her father, Eugene, Jr., of Utica; her aunt, Judy Greco of Chelmsford, MA; her aunt, Mary Ann Trunfio, of New York Mills; her brother, Eugene III, and his wife, Joy, of Malaga, Spain; and by her brother, Christopher, and his wife, Dorothy, of Boston. Laurie was a beloved aunt to Annika Greco, and her husband, William Thompson, of Liverpool, England; Daniel Greco, of Minneapolis; Anthony Greco, and his wife, Kate, of Barcelona, Spain; GianCarlo Greco, his wife, Charlotte, and their children, of Boston; and Matthew Greco, and his wife, Alina, of Chicago. Laurie has many surviving cousins (Clendennen, Craska, Greco, Kistowski, and Trunfio) who enjoyed her company and her disarming humor.

Many remember Laurie's compassionate and attentive care at Burrstone Animal Hospital, her earnest Christian faith over decades, and her raw passion about music, health care, and politics. She treasured her own dogs and looked forward to the possibility of seeing them again in heaven.

She will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Rome. A celebration of Laurie's and Linda's lives will take place in the Utica area on January 10, 2026, at a location to be determined.
