Lauren spent her career as an Administrative Assistant in brokerage and financial institutions and later served as the Assistant Director of an independent retirement community. She fought significant health challenges with extraordinary courage for 13 years. Her family cherishes the gift of those years-time that allowed her to share in treasured milestones, including her daughter's marriage and the joyful arrivals of her grandchildren.
Lauren's greatest joy came from being "Nonnie" to her beloved grandchildren. She delighted in playing with them, creating memories, and filling their world with her gentle presence. She also cherished time spent walking her dogs, reading fiction, and volunteering with dog rescue organizations.
Lauren is survived by her devoted daughter, Jaclyn Werboff-Thurston, and son-in-law Robert Thurston; grandchildren, Ezra Rosen Thurston (age 4) and Fiona Ruth Thurston (age 1); her brothers, David Rose and Barry Rose, along with sisters-in-law, Janet Rose, Marina Rose, and Meiqi Rose; her nieces, Robyn Crowley and Gillian Rose, and her nephews Jesse Rose and Trevor Rose. She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Marc Werboff.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Las Palmas Clubhouse. Refreshments will be served.
Memorial Contributions may be made to: Ezra and Fiona Thurston college funds (please contact Jaclyn for details).
