Laurence Arthur Boyd II, 85, of Norvell, Michigan, passed away on January 4, 2026. Laurence's family and friends will gather from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Monday January 12, 2026 at Brooklyn Presbyterian Church 160 N. Main St., Brooklyn Michigan. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with interment directly after at Norvell Township Cemetery. Rev. David Weber will preside.

Laurence was born on May 30, 1940, in Grant, Michigan to Laurence Arthur and Olive (Jones) Boyd. He attended Michigan Tech and U of M universities, earning his Masters, which lead to a long career in engineering. He retired from Commonwealth Associates.

Laurence married the love of his life, Kay Lorraine, on March 21, 1991, in Brooklyn, Michigan. They enjoyed 26 years together until her passing in 2017. He will be remembered as an adventurous man who loved his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laurence had many hobbies that he enjoyed. He and his wife Kay met while they were members of square and round dancing, and after dating and marriage, they traveled all over the country for national square dance conventions. He was a long-time member of the Brooklyn Presbyterian church and served as an Elder, a Deacon and sang in the choir. He loved his farm and garden, was an avid reader, enjoyed sudoku puzzles and trains. His two greatest adventures were taking long drives and if you were invited, it was not a destination, it was a journey. He loved long walks, often found in the grocery store getting in his steps and his visits to anyone in the store. He knew no strangers.

Laurence will be greatly missed by his children, Arthur (Kay Webb) Boyd III, Annette Boyd-Walker, Tamara (Mark) Risner and Trina Jecks; grandchildren, Rose (Andrew) Simpson, Greg Walker (Rita), Patricia (Wayne) Steel, Michael (Shay) Risner, Lacey (Brandon) Jones, Travis Jecks (Baylee), Jacob Jecks, Jasmine Jecks (Isaiah); 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Olive, his wife Kay and his first wife Dianna, his brothers Thomas and James and sister-in-law, Stella Boyd.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Brooklyn Presbyterian Church. Please leave a message of comfort for Laurence's family or sign his guestbook at https://www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
